Owosso, MI – Baker College continues its dedication to making higher education accessible and affordable by implementing a tuition freeze for both undergraduate and graduate students. As tuition and fees rise at many institutions, Baker College remains steadfast in its commitment to offering quality education at a transparent and affordable cost.
Key Affordability Initiatives for 2025-2026:
- Tuition Freeze – The average annual undergraduate tuition of $450 per credit hour for 28 credit hours remains $12,600.
- Housing Scholarships – New Baker students eligible for residence halls can receive scholarships that cover half of the standard housing cost for their first two years, with an additional 25% covered for year three, at the Owosso, Cadillac, and Port Huron campuses
- Military Tuition Rates – Tuition will remain frozen for active-duty military members and their spouses
- Be Free Tuition Guarantee – New students who qualify for the maximum Pell Grant and enroll in an undergraduate program may have their standard tuition costs covered for up to 5 years
- Broad Scholarship Offerings– Scholarships tailored for traditional students, transfer students, Dual Enrollment students (high school students taking college courses), Alumni graduate students, and adults starting or returning to finish
While some fees, including student housing, will see a modest increase, Baker College’s housing costs remain significantly lower than other institutions—especially with available student housing scholarships. Additionally, on-campus housing is not mandatory for first-year students.
“At Baker College, we believe financial barriers should never stand in the way of a student’s education,” said Jacqui Spicer, EdD, Baker College President. “By freezing tuition, expanding scholarships, and offering housing scholarships, we are making it easier for students to pursue their academic and career goals without excessive financial burden. This unique approach to offer a broad range of scholarships reflects our commitment to tailored support for diverse educational paths, ensuring more students—especially those facing financial hardship—can focus on their future with confidence.”
