The USDLA (United States Distance Learning Association), the leader in distance and digital learning education, recently announced its International Distance Learning Award winners for 2023, with Baker College’s Center for Teaching Excellence being named a gold award winner in the Teaching/Learning category in higher education.
The USDLA International Distance Learning Awards acknowledge significant accomplishments in distance learning, highlighting distance learning instructors, programs, and professionals who have demonstrated extraordinary achievements via online learning techniques, innovation, and video delivery technologies globally.
The goal of the CTE is to foster an intellectual community of faculty devoted to improving teaching practices, which in turn helps increase student learning.”It is an honor for our institution to win USDLA’s gold award for the teaching and learning category. We have amazing instructors, so receiving recognition for their efforts and successes in the online mode is well-deserved. This is our third award from USDLA for online teaching; this is a testament to our exemplary faculty who set the bar high through their rigor and creative pedagogical approaches in the online classroom, which are true sources of positivity, support, and in-depth teaching for our students’ learning and success,” said Jessica Hoover, Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence.
